Many thanks for having your teens come clean at my apartment. What a wonderful thing for them to do. At first I said “no”, then my son said, “Mom, you have to let people do more things for you. You can’t always give; you must learn to take.” He was right. It felt so good to have someone else clean for me. Thank you, thank you.

–Eugenia H.

Just a note with many thanks to all of you. Thank you so very much for your household help, and the hard shoveling of my deck and driveway with all of that ice. You worked so hard in my driveway, and did such a fabulous job!! My birds appreciate my deck cleaned so I can get to the feeder for them. God bless you all!

-S. S.

How sweet and unselfish of you to give your time to me. I am truly blessed. Your caroling was so meaningful and the beautiful poinsettia inspired me to put a Christmas cloth on the table with the plant. Thank you and I am looking forward to seeing you in the New Year.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!! Your timing is amazing in how God answers prayers through your ministry! I just went through one of the busiest months of my life with commitments and work, church, school, home, etc. In the process of burning the candle at both ends (and sometimes in the middle too) my body said, “Enough!” and gave me a four-day fever. You can imagine what a pig sty the house has become. I will gladly accept help again!

-Sheila G.

Thank you gals and guys for all your hard work in my yard. This has freed up so much of my time and relieved much burden from my load as a single parent! I can’t thank you all enough. God Bless you all!

-Mary J.

Please accept and pass along my sincere gratitude to those from Teen Serve that cleaned up the parking lot at Immanuel Fellowship last Friday. It was a tremendous blessing to our fellowship. Thank you for your faithful service to the Lord.

–Pastor Tim B.

What a marvelous ministry Teen Serve has become. We remember when you started it many years ago and we have benefited from it greatly. We have found the students to be very polite and willing workers. The sponsors are excellent at guiding the students. They truly live up to their name of being ‘teen servants’. We have used them once or twice a year and are thankful for this ministry. Thank you. Thank you for starting this ministry.

–Boots B.

I wanted you to know how I appreciated those young faces singing Christmas songs to me at the hospital. They ended up with “victory in Jesus”, one of my favorites. Thank you for the beautiful poinsettia that I am enjoying each day.

–Helen S.

A most grateful thanks for all you did for me. You said you had fun and I did too. You all did a great job! I hope you realize what a blessing you are to us seniors. Thanks for bringing joy into my life!!! May God bless each one of you!!

-Mrs. Smith

Thank you so much for coming out in that very cold weather to scoop snow for me. It was great to come home and find that big collection of snow at the end of my driveway gone! The snow just seems to keep coming so the accumulation is nice to be gone until more comes!

-Del K.

To all the “Teen Servers” who came and caroled for us at the deFreese Manor. Bless you all!!! That was really a lovely surprise and a nice party. May you all have a great Christmas and New Year!!! Study hard and thanks bunches for the poinsettia. I will share it.

-Vivian N.

–Velda D.

I just thank you all for the fabulous job you did for me. The garage is so clean, and my yard is now ready for spring. And thanks for the rose bush trim-no one ever did that for me. God bless all of us and keep you safe and protected.

–Sylvia S.

I am so proud of you all! Too bad you can’t teach the ones who went astray the good way of life with God’s love. You are all wonderful. There should be more kids like you.

–Eunice C.

We want to thank you for help and service to us this fall. It was such a blessing to have such friendly and diligent servants. Your effort saved us many hours of raking and provided the strength for getting the storm windows in place. Thank you again for your willing service.

–Peter & Carol G.

Thought I’d mail a card to thank you for the pretty poinsettia. I am taking good care of it. It’s in full bloom now.

–Margaret G.

Thank you so much for the pretty poinsettia plant.

-Lois H.

Please thank your crew for helping us during this difficult time. Don was so touched with the serving of the kids. They did a wonderful job, as the garage was neat and spotless, not to mention the raking of leaves and trimming of our bushes. May their lives be touched by God’s grace as they touched ours.

-Mrs. D.

A great big thanks for a job well done and an extra thank you for all your hard work. Your joyous spirits filled my heart. I love my clean garage and the missing weeds, and clean windows! They look so good and clean. I feel like a queen! May God poor out his blessings on you in every way!!

-S.S.

Thank you so much for wrapping our Christmas presents. It would have taken me hours…time I don’t have since Don had his stroke. It was a huge relief to have you take care of it. You’ve blessed us.

A big thank you for all the help with my outdoor shed. It was a cold, wet and dirty job, but it did not even bother you all. The finished inside shed is to be proud of. It looks so organized now. May God Bless all of you and bring abundance into your lives.

-Mrs. Smith

–Birdie W.

Thank you so much for all the help. It was wonderful to have such a great group involved in the tree line cleaning. Weeks of work condensed to hours!

-Andrea M.

We praise God for the way Teen Serve has served us in the past. We, however, have moved to Kansas and I don’t think you’re up to that long of a road trip. Thank you again and blessings!

-Jared B.

Please convey our thanks to the young people who have helped us so much with household chores. We fell in love with each one of them through their friendly and willing service.

-Audrey & Gene G.

Dear Members of Teen Serve, We wish each of you a very happy, healthy, and blessed New Year! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for ALL the many ways you’ve helped us this last year! We appreciate each and every one of you. It was so special when you came to sing carols to us at Christmas. Thanks also for the great devotion book and other gifts you brought us.

-Al and Dorothea N.

Thank you for enlisting your boys: Matthew, Dan, Jason, Kevin, John and their leader to help me paint my house this summer. It was a joy to meet all of them and I deeply appreciate their help. We did get most of it done except for part of the high west side and this doesn’t show anyway!

–R.L.

To all you great helpers! Thank you so much for coming to our home and helping us by cleaning our windows!! You worked very hard and did such a beautiful job. We greatly appreciated each one of you and do thank you from the bottom of our hearts. You truly shared your love with us. One of my favorite verses is I Corinthians 13:13–“And now abideth hope, faith, and love and the greatest of these is love.”

-Mr. & Mrs. N.

To all of you wonderful, giving young men, and your leader- I can’t even begin how to express my gratitude to you for raking my yard and the leader for preparing the flower bed. Such a burden lifted for me!! The yard looks fabulous! Just in time for the rain! May God bless all of you abundantly.

-Mrs. S. Smith

“Thank you” doesn’t seem adequate to express my appreciation for the team you sent last Friday! I was so surprised to get 8 kids and 2 ladies. They worked willingly and with smiles and got a lot of things done that I probably would have struggled with for days—they got it done in 1 ½ hours. It’s a big adjustment for me to be ‘helped’ instead of being a ‘helper’ but these kids were so much fun that I adjusted quickly. I hope you sent some of the pictures you took to the World Herald. It’s time the world sees a different picture of teens than we usually read about. The T.V. reporters should have been here instead of all at the shootings!! I just wish I would have been prepared and thought to have all of the kids sign their names so I’d remember them and the ladies. Blessings to all—I’m sure God has assigned some angels the task of preparing their eternal rewards.Tell those kids to keep showing the world what God can do with a young person committed to Him.

–Marlys F.

Thank you for the gifts at Christmas. Thank you for caroling for me here at my house. I enjoy all you do.

–B.S.

What a wonderful blessing of food I received from all of you and right before my surgery. I appreciate that you got up so early to prepare and deliver. Also for the Christmas plant and wonderful Christmas carols. All of this sure made me very happy. You are so good to us widows, seniors, etc. May God repay you all ten-fold.

–S.S.

Thank you so much for your thoughtfulness. I hope you all have a great spring/summer and all the year through. I am looking forward to seeing some of you again!

-Bernice S.

Thank you so much for all your help. It’s just a joy to know that someone cares and takes time to serve, and that’s you…Teen Serve. Thanks for all the kids and the team leader. Keep up the good work! The Good Lord bless and keep you as you continue doing good work for His honor and glory! Thank you so much for all your help. It’s just a joy to know that someone cares and takes time to serve and that’s you…Teen Serve. Keep up the good work!

-Fely F.

Thank you so much for the beautiful voices singing God’s carols and the gift. I used “Jesus Calling” every day and have told my friends about that beautiful little book. God bless you.

-Ruth L.

Dear Teens who serve and drivers who bring them – and pitch right in to demonstrate service, The cheerful ‘teen carolers’ were great and I love the colorful poinsettia. I’ve never seen one like that. I’ve always preferred to serve instead of needing help but the Teens are always fun, so I’m adjusting.

–Mrs. M. F.

Thanks for giving me a clean garage and clean fresh door lights. My house is now ready for winter and it is a good feeling. You all worked so hard and did a great job. I thank you so much for the great job you did washing my windows. I think I enjoyed the fall weather much more through sparkling windows. Also I enjoyed visiting with you afterwards. I’m afraid I did most of the talking, just hoped you liked the testimony I shared with you. I love and appreciate each one of you. May God bless you.

–Florence S.

John in his Gospel, Chapter 1, introduces us to Jesus verses 4 and 5, “In Him was life and that life was the light of men. The light shines in darkness and the darkness has not overcome it.” (and never will). You reflect His light in this world as you bring songs of praise into our homes and as you care for us. You also come bringing gifts. I love the devotion book Jesus Calling and I read it every day. It brings me joy. Also the lotion, tissues and candy which at this writing has already disappeared. Thank you so much. I love and appreciate you and pray for you. Keep that light shining!

-Mrs. S.

Twice this summer and fall your presence graced our little apartment home and you did several things that had become difficult for the two of us to do. One was to wash and clean our patio windows, dust some high places where our balance was unsure. We were impressed by your courtesy toward us and it was to bring a refreshment to our hearts. It was wonderful to be able to have adult-type young adult talk. We also want to give our appreciation to your parents for doing a good job. I do know that young people are more apt to do for others, as I remember when I was quite young how I was. There is a real hope for the future being well-done in your hands. I turn 81 November 16th and have spent many years teaching or in ministry with young folks. As I look back over the last nearly 60 years of relationships with the younger generation, some of both my and my wife’s remembrances still hang heavy in our minds and hearts with seeing great changes take place. There were times when we saw many break free into adulthood and make their parents pleased with whom they had birthed and pointed toward responsible adulthood.

Both Phyllis and I remember some things from your age and recall that whether during The Great Depression, or, World War II year, or, just growing up, maturing issues still remain much the same. For all of you who have risen above the changes of growth and are learning to develop good relationships, in spite of what the future may hold for us all, you have learned some of the best lessons for life.

May each of you continue to grow, to enlarge your sense of responsible adulthood. Keep on laying foundations that your life may stand and reflect who you are in Christ Jesus.

–Bob & Phyllis J.
